We live along Nimitz Drive, which is just one of the many roads in PV. (Others have less interesting names like Airport Road and Arnold Drive, so I am pretty happy with Nimitz)
The neighbourhood is very safe. (The police station is just beside my building, and they are the most hardworking policemen that I know. Either that or they are severely overstaffed. But more stories about them another time...)
PV is a very structured place. All the buildings are two storeys tall, with the same number of units per building. And each family has an allocated parking lot which is properly labelled with your unit number! And if you are a guest, not to worry... there is a parking lot marked "Guest", just for you!
Our building: Ours is on the second floor, third unit from the left
Our apartment is a "one-bedroom apartment", as opposed to two-bedroom apartments, which are for bigger families. The living room and the kitchen are together, which is good coz that means I can cook and watch TV at the same time... :P The kitchen is equipped with a large fridge and a gas stove/oven, which, I heard, is perfect for baking all sorts of stuff. Can't wait to try it out!!!
Our kitchen area: Oh we bought the microwave for $20 at a garage sale! :)
Our living room is still very spacious... We bought a sturdy dining table with four chairs, also at a garage sale, for just $75! The kind uncle even threw in free cushions and a carpet!
Actually, we really have to count our blessings for getting this apartment. It is not facing the west, so the sun doesn't come in as much as it does in other apartments. It is right opposite the Admin Building (very convenient), and next to a road where we can see the bus go past (thus no need to guess whether we missed the bus or not). In addition, it is in the corner of PV nearest to where the university campus is. Of course, being next to the police station is a plus as well. :)
