Bye Bye Hazel...

Hazel eating her favourite carrot on our laps, sometime last year...

Hazel passed away last night. It was pretty unexpected, because her kidney stone was removed and she should have been on the road of recovery. Sadly, that was not to be. The actual cause of death is not known, but it could be anything from kidney failure to a raptured urinary tract, given that the stone was rather big.

Not sure if Kopi knows it yet. This morning, we fed him his favourtie cilantro, but he left half of it uneaten. Shisheng said maybe he is leaving it for Hazel. That was before we got the phone call from Dr Wolf telling us about Hazel's demise.

Perhaps it is best that she is taken out of her misery. Poor Hazel has had two surgeries within four months.

We will miss you Hazel! You always make us laugh when you move the pigloo across the cage like a snail. And we will miss your wheeking, especially when we open the fridge and you think we are going to feed you yummy veggies again.

Hazel is still at Jean's house. Will be going there this afternoon to bring her back and say our last goodbyes.

poor Hazel... I'm sure she's in a happier place now, on the other side of the rainbow. It's a difficult time saying goodbye to a furry friend but I'm sure her star will always shine in your hearts, and the memories of her forever brightening. Hugs to little Kopi as well, from his furry friends here in this island republic~~ xoxox

Hey thanks ayu... :) Kopi thanks you too... he is a bit lonely. We know coz we placed Dot Dot (our foster GP) and Kopi next to each other with a fence in between, and he started wheeking really loudly, and biting the fence. We are trying to shower him with a bit more attention so that he doesn't feel that lonely, till we are ready to get him a new friend... Hazel's absence is still too apparent right now...
