Broke off...

The handle for one of my mugs, that is. (The one with the dry mug and the wet handle)

And it broke off with a chunk of the mug as well, so I had to destroy the mug.

Went for yoga class today. I was having a some backache, and the yoga helped. But now, the pain has returned. I guess I have to practise doing it everyday. Still cannot remember all the moves. And my yoga mat is in SG. In the meantime, I will try and do it by putting a towel on the floor, or on the bed.

Aw... too bad about the handle. On the other hand, the pen holder with the cut-out patterns looks amazing... you should make more of those! And giveaway to all your friends for Christmas!! (not a hint).

Oh, sorry to hear about your back too. Hope you feel better soon. I heard pilates can help too. But probably being careful about your posture is the cheaper way :) Take care!

dont do yoga on the bed, not good for your back, not enough support ;) I bought a new yoga mat here haha

Glazing your pottery: Glazing is very difficult to get even when you do dipping. They have calipers which you can insert into the pot in order to dip and pull out. The best way is to spray the glaze onto the pot.

If you're unsure of how glazes will turn out, try doing test pieces first. Make clay chips with different kinds of clay and also with both smooth and rough sections. Like very thin majong tiles. Then play with all sort of glazes, dipping different colours in different orders. Make sure you label your clay chips and write down exactly what you did in a journal. This will save you the trouble of making something which you like and then "spoiling" it with glaze that you don't like. When you come back to Singapore on your break you must come to my school's ceramic studio.

Hey thanks for all the advice! :)

Jessica, I will love to visit your school's ceramic studio! In fact, I am already looking around to see if it is possible for me to throw some pots in SG. (And maybe use some of the glazes which are not available here)
