2008 fall/winter pottery collection: Part 1

I got my pots back!

It was pretty exciting when I went to collect the pots, coz I had no idea how they will turn out. But overall I am very happy with how the glazes turned out!

Here is one of my yunomis:

This is glazed in Peachy then Nutmeg. I really like the colours on this cup. There are peeks of light purple on the brown, and there is a nice combination of matte and glassy surfaces. The throwing rings inside the cup also showed up nicely.

Another yunomi here glazed in Deep Sea Green then Crayon Blue:

A little disappointed with this one because the surface decoration (scratched out using a comb) was obscured by the glaze. I guess two layers of glaze is too thick for this. I should have made the carvings deeper, or just stick to one layer of glaze next time.

I like the foot of this yunomi, but unfortunately, there is a crack in the inside of the cup. I am not sure if I made the crack while I was carving out the foot. Will make this foot again next time.

My last yunomi is glazed in Jade Green:

SS likes this one, but I just can't stop staring at the streaks on some parts of the cup -- they make the colours look uneven. Other than that, the glaze pooled nicely in the carvings and in the leaf-foot as well!
