Been back for about a week now. So glad that the journey back went smoothly. No delays, although there was some turbulence which freaked me out a bit. No problems at the customs either. And I got to experience the transit hotel at Narita Airport. For $17, I got a small room and shower for two hours.
Somehow, the jetlag has turned me from a night owl to a morning person -- I now wake up automatically at 7am every day and go for a 15min jog around the neighbourhood (with the squirrels, birds and rabbits... ). A really nice way to start the day, especially with the weather we are enjoying right now.
The biggest downside about coming back in the US is, without a doubt, having to eat my own cooking again.
Okay, it probably isn't that bad. I just miss eating mummy and SS's mum's cooking. It just tastes different.
Am also getting ready for school to start. Textbooks... insurance... registering for classes... checked. Next up: the tuberculin test. I am so sure that I am going to test positive, coz that was what happened the last time. Wonder if I can convince them to let me skip the test and just go straight for the chest X-ray. Argh... hate being poked and zapped!
Anyway, I am really happy this week, coz my mum just took a major step towards taking care of her health! So proud of her! And my dad of course, who went with her for the Dr's appointment (and taped down what the Dr and dietician had to say... I am so amazed....)

Congrats to you! Your dad's very diligent man, can see that he's really concerned abt your mum's maiden trip!
What is tuberculin?
Oh that is a skin test that they do to test for TB. Apparently, people who had BCG before (i.e. me) will get a (false) positive result.
Anyways, I told them about my situation, and they did a blood test (Quantiferon) for me today. Results out in a week! *keeping my fingers crossed*
