Garage sales are a great way to shop! It is interesting to see that one person's trash is another person's treasure... Here are some bargains we got:

- Gloves = $0.50
- Potraits = $4
- Fluffy pink slippers = $0.50

My two best friends over here: Ben and Jerry! B&J is incredibly cheap here! Just USD$3+ for a pint! Same for Haagen-Dazs... No wonder people say it is easy to gain weight here...
3. Libraries
The libraries here are just amazing! We can borrow unlimited books! Yes, unlimited! And some libraries have no fines for overdue books...
And here is the best part: they have Grey's Anatomy DVDs!!!
Hehe... I borrowed Seasons 1 and 2... Season 3 just came into the stores on 11 Sep, so I don't think I will be seeing it in the library that soon... (but I have to get my hands on them!!! how? how?...) And season 4 is coming end of this month, on TV!!! I can't wait!!!
Ooh, and they have the latest DVDs for borrowing too... the collection is just amazing! And all for free! And to think I almost signed up with Netflix, which I will have to pay to borrow DVDs...
4. Weather
Fall is here, and the weather is starting to be a little chilly... at night the temperature can drop to 50F (that is about 10C...) Oh yes, the US like to use units that are different from the rest of the world... so here is the conversion for F to C:
temp in F = (temp in C - 32) x 5/9
5. CornBut it is fun to walk around, or jog, and not sweat a drop... like in natural air con... of yeah, we don't even need to turn on the air con that we bought earlier on...
Yes, there are plenty of corn fields here (as I have been forewarned), but the corn here is really sweet and juicy! I like to buy the un-shucked ones, coz they retain their sweetness better... oh, and actually I get a kick out of shucking them... :P
