Each state has a different design for their license plate, and if you pay a little bit more money every year, you can even have fancy design ones, like those with Garfield or Snoopy on them... We were on a budget, so we chose the "default" design, which just shows a patch of grassland... pretty boring design compared to other states... And the number we got is not very useful for buying 4D either...
