knitting in verde

Okay, I know this is long overdue... I am supposed to post this like a month ago, when I first started knitting... but procrastination got the better of me...

Ta-dah! Here is my green sock! (In progress)

That was about two weeks ago...

And here is my green sock again! (Still in progress, but notice that it is now a bit longer... yes, a bit... and it was a very complicated bit, if I may add...)

And I say "complicated" because the bits refer to the heel flap, turn heel and the gusset of the sock... (Yes, there are that many parts to a sock!) I had problems understanding the knitting pattern... but thanks to Adrianne, who unravelled the instructions for me, I have now successfully completed the gusset, and am on my way to completing my first sock!

Picture of the heel flap and turn heel...
they are basically the parts of the sock that wrap around your heel...

Well, it wasn't all smooth sailing for my first attempt at knitting... I had to frog a few rows... knit knit knit, save a dropped stitch, knit knit knit, save a lot of dropped stitches... then, after saving all my dropped stitches, and giving myself a pat on the back, I realised that I was knitting on the wrong side all along... so I kicked myself, and frogged the same few rows again, and went back to knit knit knit...

but it was all worth it... :) I am looking forward to reaching the end of the sock!

And here is my current stash of yarn... don't they look yummy? :P
