Green fingers

We went grocery shopping last weekend, and these potted herbs were on sale. (Only $1.99!) So Shisheng let me buy one to play with... :)

My Curled Parsley when it just got home. Now it has relatively fewer leaves, coz I have been snipping them off for various uses. Oh and I made the white plate that it is sitting on during my pottery class. Finally can put it to good use... :)

I chose this Curled Parsley, coz out of all the herbs there, I am only familiar with parsley. I bit into one of the leaves just to see how it tastes like, but there wasn't much taste. I didn't dare to swallow it though...

Maybe I will use it in cooking one of these days. Currently, they are a source of food for my guinea pigs. I use them as garnishing as well, just to make my food look a bit more appetizing than it really is.

Garnished tomato beef
(failed experimental food... I am not good at cooking beef. It always turns out tough like leather)

Garnished prawns

It became droopy two days after I brought it home. I got worried and place it under my lamp for most of the day. Now that the days are shorter, and it gets dark at five in the evening, I thought I better let it photosynthesize more... I hope that is the right thing to do. It looks perkier now. Keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't die on me suddenly. I read that herbs can suddenly die of root rot if you water them too much.
