Christmas light-up at Downtown Lafayette

Last weekend, we went for the Christmas light-up at Downtown Lafayette. It was a very simple ceremony, with the organisers thanking the sponsors followed by a countdown, before the lights were switched on. About a hundred people were there. Quite a small crowd, probably due to the weather. (It was sub-zero that evening!)

The lights were nice and simple, unlike the elaborate ones we have at home. The more fancy Christmas decorations are found in the local residents' front porches instead. There is a competition to see which house has the best decoration every year. They really do put a lot of effort preparing for the holiday season!

Pardon my substandard photo-taking. (Can hardly see the tree ya...)
Plus, my hands were shaking from the cold, so the photo turned out blur... haiz...

A steadier self-taken photo,
accurately aimed on the very first attempt!

(By Shisheng of course...)
