When we reached her house, Hazel was lying in the corner of the cage, behaving herself. In another corner is a pile of poop. That's a good sign, says Jean, as it means that her bowels are functioning after the surgery.
Jean skilfully carried Hazel up and put her in her pet taxi, and went through her meds with us. She is given tramadol (just 0.02ml twice daily till tomorrow morning) for pain relief, and the antibiotic Septra (0.74ml twice daily, for ten days).
Her next dose is at 7pm tonight... I wonder if Hazel will let us feed her the meds... I can forsee a struggle ahead...
As for Hazel's battle scar, it looks quite alright, about 1cm long. Fortunately, we don't have to do any cleaning of the wound. And Hazel hasn't been too bothered with it either: she did not chew on the sutures or display any signs of pain.

When we placed Hazel back into her cage, she seemed pretty excited to be back. Kopi welcomed her back by giving her numerous pecks on her cheek, but Hazel didn't seem to like them too much. After lots of eating and drinking, she plonked herself down in the Pigloo and fell asleep almost instantly.
Hazel, on the verge of sleeping... and looking a little grouchy...

The total bill came up to be close to $150, which was lower than we expected. (We expected it to be exhorbitant actually, after hearing lots of horror stories about medical costs here.) It was interesting that the surgery took 17 mins, and the charge was $2 per min. The other costs went towards the anaesthesia, examination, sutures and meds.
