Yes, I know this is another backdated post, but it was really a very busy week!
On CNY's eve, we went to Hana Mart (our local Jap/Korean grocery store) and Target to buy lots of yummy stuff for our "steamboat".
Except that in place of a steamboat, we have a rice cooker.
It worked! But it took a while to boil, and it was too deep to see what we were cooking. So we just dumped the food in, wait till it is cooked, and then take it out and put it in a bowl. And then we just ate from the bowl. I guess it sort of defeats the purpose of having a steamboat, but it was an experience anyway.
We were really grateful! For the food, the family, the wine, the B&Js...
Ooh yes! And Shisheng's family brought LOTS of goodies from home! Enough goodies fo last us for months!
Plus, my dad bought us each a T-shirt from his Penang trip, both with Orang Utans on it, painted by a famous artist. Well, now we finally have a set of matching qing2 lu3 zhuang1.
