We had a traditional Chinese New Year breakfast prepared by Shisheng's mum -- 面线!
She brought the 面线 all the way from home. It is slightly different from the usual 面线 as it is thicker.
(And I can't believe I forgot to take a photo of it! Shucks...)
Anyway, imagine a large pot of soupy 面线 in the middle of the table, with side dishes around the pot such as seaweed, peanuts, fried egg and wu har1 (a fried yam snack that Shisheng's extended family makes every year), and five people sitting around the table gobbling up the food...
Yum yum!

And look what came through the mail!
Dawn had perfect timing: This came through on CNY day itself! The blue and red packages are homemade cookies baked by Dawn and Paul, and the two round things in front of the card are walnuts "which contain a secret message"... Teehee...
Thank you!!!

isn't it nice to get surprises via mail? :D to think we carried on this random note-writing, gift-giving (well not so random now) until today! hehe
BTW, your blog is one of my nominees for the Make My Day award. Go ahead and pass it on! :) see here: http://peesnkays.blogspot.com/2008/02/thank-you-yvette_20.html
