I love this glaze for three reasons:
(i) The faceting showed up perfectly! (top two photos)
(ii) The throwing lines appeared! (lower left pix)
(iii) The glaze appears reflective (as opposed to matted)
(iv) There are speckles, which adds character to the bowl! (Oops, that makes it four reasons to love this glaze!)
It is hard to imagine that all the different shades of brown on this bowl came from a single glaze. E.g. the edge of the bowl is a darker shade as compared to the inside of the bowl. (bottom right pix)
Heehee... so happy... Okay, my next step shall be to try out nutmeg with another glaze as a combination, and see how it turns out. Choosing which glaze to pair it with is going to be a toughie...

And here is my heart-shaped bowl in periwinkle:

Okay, I must admit I am a little disappointed with this... The surface of this heart-shaped bowl is supposed to be patterned, but it did not show up. The only part where it is visible is around the edges (see bottom right pix), where the some of the clay is peeking through the glaze. I am guessing that either my glaze is too thick, so that it totally covered the patterned surface, or I chose the wrong glaze. If I had chosen something like nutmeg, with breaks around corners or has more colour variation as thickness of the glaze varies, the pattern may have shown up more... :(

As discussed, I glazed this in Jade. I have been warned that Jade is a pretty fussy glaze, so here is hoping that it turns out okay... My engraved amethyst pattern is completely obscured by the glaze now... It better turn up after firing! Or else I am going to be really upset...

The hexagon base is made using the Big Blue extruder, and the lid is hand-built. The pattern by the side is stamped on. My workmanship still needs improvement. The lid only fits in a certain configuration, which means that the lid is not as symmetrical as it should be. I also feel that the proportion of the lid to the rest of the container is a bit "wrong"... should have thought about it before I started making the lid...
Status: To be glazed (still thinking of which glaze though...)

I used my trusty $3 tool to engrave the rim of the small plate. It took me about 2.5h while I was watching CNN. Created a LOT of dust, which I suspect I breathed in a significant amount. Now a bit worried about getting lung disease in the long run... Anyway, the small plate is waiting to be bisque-fired now, while the large plate is waiting to be glazed... (I need some glazing ideas!)

Lastly, this is an experiment. Gail bought a set of seven "Coleman's Colours" for us to try. We have to play around with it to see how they behave on different glaze combinations. So I used three different glazes (Moody Blue, Whip White, and Auburn) on this plate and dotted the Coleman's Colours on it. Hopefully we can get some useful results out from it!
