We didn't catch her in labour, but we are pretty sure that the piggies were just born when we took these photos:
9.00am: The newborns still helpless and wet. In a while, Snowie would lick them all over to fluff up their fur. I read somewhere that this will help to turn off the genes that make the babies feel "less fearful of the unknown and less neurotic". I hope that's true, coz Snowie herself seems pretty neurotic to me at times.
Yes, these babies can be differentiated. One is completely white, and the other has a black patch over both eyes. Both these traits can be seen in Snowie, which makes us wonder how their Daddy looks like...
Snowie showing her better-looking side (The side with the undamaged eye), and baby just beginning to open his/her eyes.
Same day, 7.00pm: The babies look much cuter now! They are up and running about. GP babies are pretty independent and can eat hay just like adults within days. It is a good thing there are only two babies, so they can both drink mummy's milk at the same time -- no need to fight.
We took them out of the cage to cuddle. They are sooo tiny! I love their ears. They will move up and down when they wheek... :)
The babies will be staying with Snowie and Booboo. No need to separate them since GPs are not like hamsters and won't eat their young. We still don't know if they are boys or girls. But if any of them are boys, they will have to leave the girls camp when they are 4 - 6 weeks old, which is usually the time they wean off as well.

haha yeah... they are really soft. They just started eating fresh veg today, so they are growing up really fast.
