I wonder who is going to stay here in three days' time....

Yes, this is the White House. Elections is next Tuesday and I am quite excited over it. Ya I am the type who will stay up to watch the votes being counted, right to the very end, even though everyone knows PAP is going to win. I don't count myself as politically-savvy, but there is just something about watching the results being rolled out in real time that makes my adrenaline run. As if I am living in a history-changing moment...

And I found out today that I am not the only one. (Phew, I am not weird)

So next Tuesday night, I will be glued to CNN (not on TV though, coz my TV has been sent for repair for two months liao and still they haven't managed to fix it! Grr... Talk about efficiency!) on the Net, for a potential nail-biting finish between McCain and Obama.

But I digress. This post is supposed to be about my Washington DC trip. Yeah, saw the White House from afar. Like standing at Woodlands and looking at JB like that.

I guess when you tell people you have been to DC, they will definitely say "Oh, so you saw the White House ya?" True, but that is not what DC is all about. In fact, there were so many other things that I liked about DC more than President Bush's house. My favourites, in no particular order, are:

1. The National Gallery of Art (Free!)
2. The U.S. Holocaust Museum (Free!)
3. The U.S Capitol (Free!)
4. The Washington Monument (Free!)
5. The International Spy Museum (Okay this one not free...)

DC is really the place to go for Museum lovers.

Anyhows, I have posted my DC photos up on my web album, with captions. So here is a short snippet:

From the Air and Space Museum:
Space food that the astronauts eat in space. The black one is Shrimp Scampi. No, it is not rotten, just dehydrated. There is one Mac and Cheese, but I cannot remember which one it is coz they all look the same. Yellow. I wonder how Hainanese Chicken Rice and Char Kway Teow will look like as space food. Until then, I think no Singaporean will be willing to go to space bah.

The Washington Monument. Very grand obelisk standing at 555 feet and 5.5 inches tall. Can see it almost anywhere in DC, thus it served as a very good landmark for finding out bearings. We actually managed to go all the way up. The view was fabulous. But if we get to go again, we will go up in the evening -- the sun will be better for taking photos then.
